Beth McElroy joined the firm in 1997. Her practice primarily involves insurance defense, with a special focus on life and health insurance litigation in contractual, fraud and bad faith contexts. She has successfully defended shareholder derivative suits, class actions, and a variety of insurance based claims. Her practice routinely involves complex insurance programs and the resolution of corporate disputes. She also assists insurance clients with claims evaluation and compliance issues. In addition to her trial court experience, Beth has successfully handled appeals at all levels of the Alabama State Courts, Federal Courts, and the Eleventh Circuit, and has argued before the Alabama Supreme Court.

Beth graduated with a B.A. in history from Birmingham-Southern College in 1994, where she was a member of the history honors society. She received her law degree from the University of Alabama, cum laude, in 1997. Beth was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and grew up in Birmingham. She is married to Robert McElroy and is the mother of three children.
